Is your memory hurting you at work ?

By Kerrie Mullins-Gunst

Do any of these situations ever apply to you?

1. You fail to recognize your biggest client when you run into him or her in the supermarket.

2. HR bring in the new recruits to meet you. But, when asked if you will take the recruits around to introduce them to your team, you suddenly realize you can't remember a single name.

3. You arrive at the monthly department meeting to be greeted by questions of "Where is it? You said you would bring that report along today." and you can't even think what report they are talking about, let alone when you said you would bring it.

4. You often arrive late to meetings because you got caught up in other work and had forgotten the meeting was even on.

5. Your printing budget is running through the roof because you can never find the papers you printed out last week so everything has to be reprinted.

6. You know you could arrive at work half an hour earlier if you didn't have to hunt for your car keys every morning before you left home. Someone must be moving them...

7. You start to make an important presentation to your team and your mind goes blank. You have no idea what on earth you wanted to say. You just know it was really important that you get your point across now or it would be too late!

8. You write out lists of things you have to do - then forget to look at them!

9. You start doing one thing , then the phone rings and one of your team asks for some advice and hands you a bundle of papers. By the time you get back to your desk the mail has arrived and you realize you have absolutely no idea what you were working on...

If you are experiencing any of these warning signs, don't delay! You need to do something to improve your memory now - before you forget!
